Earlier: The Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs are locked in an epic showdown on Monday Night Football. LA is hoping standout wide receiver Brandin Cooks will be able to return.

Cooks exited the game early in the third quarter after he hit the ground hard attempting to pull in a long pass from Jared Goff. The play went for an incompletion.

Cooks left the field and headed to the locker room for more evaluation.

Cooks has already pulled in four receptions for 63 yards. It looks like he was only cramping, according to an update from the Rams.

He is questionable to return.

The Rams just took a 30-23 lead on the Chiefs in the third quarter. Los Angeles drove to a score after recovering Pat Mahomes' second fumble of the game on Kansas City's opening possession of the second half. You can watch the game on ESPN. Update: Cooks is back on the sideline.

Obviously, this is a pretty good sign for him eventually returning to action.

Update: Cooks has returned to the game.
