For at least this weekend, the Sam Darnold era in New York will be put on hold due to injury. Josh McCown has more than enough experience to excel on Sunday, but he could be without his favorite wideout in Robby Anderson.
This season has been disappointing for the third-year wide receiver, especially after a tremendous campaign in 2017. With McCown under center, Anderson had 63 receptions for 941 yards and seven touchdowns.
Although the two clearly have a connection on the field, the early indication is that New York won’t have its top vertical threat in the lineup.
The Jets’ injury report lists Anderson as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills.

While Anderson missing this divisional matchup is possible, Quincy Enunwa is healthy and will be active.
Last weekend, Enunwa had three catches for 40 yards in the 13-6 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
McCown can still lead Jets to a victory this weekend, but he might have to move the chains without the help of Anderson.
