Carolina Panthers defensive back Ross Cockrell was carted off the practice field earlier today when he had a collision with a teammate. The cornerback was reportedly heard screaming "my leg is broke" as he made his way off the field.

Unfortunately, his fears have reportedly been deemed to be true.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport has an injury update for the Panthers' standout defensive back.

The leg is reportedly broken.

"Panthers CB Ross Cockrell, who yelled to teammates today that he thought his leg was broken, did in fact break his leg, source said. Another rough blow for Carolina," he reports.

The Panthers ended practice shortly after Cockrell's injury. Players were huddling around him as he was on the ground in pain.

Our thoughts are with Ross as he makes his recovery.
