The Philadelphia Eagles are already down one running back today with Darren Sproles not playing. Now, Jay Ajayi has left the game.

Ajayi was injured during the first quarter against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On his first carry, he went down and had to leave the field.

Ajayi went to the locker room before returning to the sideline a short time later. However, there's no guarantee he will return to the game.

According to the Eagles, Ajayi is questionable to return with a back injury.

Ajayi dealt with some injury issues during the preseason but played well in Philly's season-opening win over the Falcons last Thursday.

He rushed 15 times for 62 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The fourth-year pro is expected to be the Eagles' main back this season.

With him and Sproles out of action, Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement are the only other running backs on Philly's roster today.

We will keep you updated on Ajayi's status throughout the afternoon.
