Iowa nearly pulled out a huge road win at Penn State this evening, but the Hawkeyes ultimately fell shot, losing to the Nittany Lions, 30-24, at Beaver Stadium in State College, Pa.

The game came down to the final play, with Iowa's Hail Mary! attempt falling into the arms of a Hawkeyes' offensive lineman. He made it about 25 percent of the way to the end zone before getting tackled.

There was a controversial call moments before that, though.

Iowa appeared to have a long completion that would've given them several reasonable shots at a touchdown, but the officials ended up saying that the pass was incomplete.

It was tough to tell whether or not it was actually a catch based on the replays. Iowa fans are not happy.

Here's video of the play:

Was it a catch? Was it too close to overturn?

Regardless, Iowa is leaving Penn State as a loser tonight. The Hawkeyes fall to 6-2 on the season with the loss today, while the Nittany Lions improved to 6-2.
