Purdue Says Isaac Haas Will Not Be Playing Tonight

Purdue's Isaac Haas attempts to warm up wearing a brace on his elbow.

Purdue has announced Isaac Haas' playing status for tonight. The star big man will not be playing.

Boilermakers' head coach Matt Painter told reporters this evening that the senior big man will not be available for the Sweet 16 game against Texas Tech.

Haas fractured his elbow in an opening round win over Cal State Fullerton.

The senior big man wants to play, and has been practicing with a massive elbow brace, but he's not going to be able to go.

Purdue's engineering students actually attempted to build a brace that would be deemed playable by the NCAA. Unfortunately, he won't be able to use it.

Painter announced the news this evening.

Haas is a massive loss, but Purdue has already won one NCAA Tournament game without him. The Boilermakers topped Butler in the second round.

Purdue and Texas Tech are set to tip off at 9:57 p.m. E.T.

The game will be televised on TBS.
