Former NBA Star Thinks There's One Team Where "Everything Works" For Both LeBron James, Paul George

LeBron James walks out of a press conference.

Friday, Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James will officially make his decision on whether he'll opt in or out of his current deal. James is expected to opt out, and if he does, he'll have a number of options as he heads into free agency.

Many believe that James will head to Los Angeles to play for the Lakers - despite the fact that the team needs a lot more help to become a contender. But there's another team that people are talking about - and from a basketball perspective, it may be a better option.

Former NBA superstar Isiah Thomas believes that the Philadelphia 76ers are the only team where "everything works" for both James and fellow free agent star Paul George. Between its young stars (Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons) and its cap space, the 76ers are in good position to make a run at the two stars.

Here's what Thomas had to say on NBATV:

"See, to me, Philly is the one place where everything works. I mean, you can slide Paul George in there and it works. You can slide LeBron James in there and it works. And they don't have to do a whole lot to attract one of those guys. When you look at the possibility of playing with Embiid and Simmons and continuing to dominate the East, to me, Philadelphia is the most attractive place for either Paul George of LeBron James when you're talking about just a basketball perspective.

Here's the clip:

There's also the possibility that Kawhi Leonard, who wants out of San Antonio, gets traded to Philadelphia. If that happens and the 76ers are able to sign either James or George, they might become the biggest contender to the Golden State Warriors.

The next few days of NBA free agency should be fascinating. We should have all our answers soon.
