The 2018 NBA Awards just wrapped up. They saved the best for last, announcing the 2017-18 MVP award to cap off the night.

As many expected, the award went to Houston Rockets guard James Harden. Harden had a huge season leading the Rockets to the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.

He beat out LeBron James and Anthony Davis for the honor.

Harden averaged 30.4 points, 8.8 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game for Houston this season.

He led the NBA in free throws for the fourth-straight year, and topped the league in several other categories as well. He was No. 1 in three-pointers made and attempted and points per game.

For the analytics crowd, he led the rankings in PER, Win Shares, Offensive Win Shares, Win Shares Per 48 Minutes and Plus/Minus.

Ultimately, Harden came up short against the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference. The Rockets lost the Western Conference Finals in seven games.

This isn't a bad consolation prize though.
