Xavier was one of the best teams in the country this season. And the Musketeers were rewarded for that by the selection committee.
Chris Mack's team is one of the four No. 1 seeds. Will this be the year Xavier makes a Final Four run?
Jay Williams doesn't see it. The ESPN college basketball analyst has Xavier going out early.
"I don't see Xavier getting past the second round," Williams said on ESPN this evening. "I have Missouri beating them."
A second round matchup against Missouri would be pretty tough for the No. 1-seeded Xavier. They'd be facing a lot of NBA talent.
Missouri just got back potential top-five NBA Draft pick Michael Porter Jr., who could pose to be a serious problem for Mack and Co.
The Tigers have to win their first round game first, though. Mizzou is set to take on Florida State in the Round of 64.
Xavier, meanwhile, will take on the winner of the play-in game between No. 16 Texas Southern and No. 16 N.C. Central.
The NCAA Tournament begins on Tuesday night.
