Johnny Manziel missed practice for the Montreal Alouettes on Tuesday, the team announced. It's unclear of the exact reason - but the team says that he was present in team meetings during the morning but had to miss practice for an "appointment" later on in the day.
Some are wondering if Manziel's appointment has to do with the hit he suffered during his team's game this past Saturday night. Manziel, racing towards the end zone in the third quarter, was hit in the head and fumbled the ball on the goal line. His teammate recovered it for a touchdown, but it seems to have left Manziel woozy.
Manziel was not removed from the game. The team says Manziel underwent proper concussion protocol.
Manziel's team lost the game, 24-17, but he looked much improved in his second start. Manziel finished 16-of-26 for 168 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions.
It's also possible that Manziel's appointment has nothing to do with the hit he suffered on Saturday night.
Manziel's ultimate goal is to return to the NFL - where he played two years for the Cleveland Browns. It's still considered a long shot, but if he improves each game, you never know.
