Johnny Manziel Reveals How Much Money He Wants To Play In The NFL

Johnny Manziel plays in a Spring League game

Johnny Manziel wants back in the NFL. And he's willing to do pretty much anything to make that happen.

The former Heisman Trophy winner has been out of the league for two years. The 25-year-old QB has dealt with some very public off-the-field issues.

Manziel admitted that he's been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He's feeling much better, mentally, and believes he's in a place to make a return to the football field.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports that Manziel is telling NFL teams that he’s willing to take $0 in guaranteed money. He’s also willing to be a practice squad player.

“He is in touch with multiple NFL head coaches. There have been conversations,” Garafolo reports. “Those people around him believe it’s a very real possibility that he could return to the NFL.”

“He would be open to signing a practice squad contract, staying on a team’s practice squad, and proving that he’s in the right mindset.”

Manziel later took to Twitter, saying he'd play for FREE.

That's a pretty significant statement. Maybe an NFL team will pull the trigger and sign him.

If he's really willing to play for a minimum contract and join the practice squad, it's not difficult to imagine him getting back into the league.

Stay tuned.
