The Cavs are two games away from getting eliminated in the first round of the 2018 NBA Playoffs. Cleveland fell to Indiana in Game 3 tonight.
LeBron and Co. were up big early, but the Pacers, led by Bojan Bogdanovic and Victor Oladipo, stormed back and pulled up a 92-90 victory. The Cavs had a chance to win it late, but J.R. Smith was unsuccessful in his attempt to be the hero.
J.R., unsurprisingly, is getting criticized pretty harshly for how he handled the final seconds. It's not difficult to see why.
The Cleveland guard grabbed a rebound with about 5 seconds left and the Cavs down two. He appeared to have some teammates open, but he was locked in on the 3.
Smith chucked up a prayer. It was short and to the left.
Here's what happened:
LeBron did not appear to be happy. He was posting his man up and seemed to want the ball pretty badly.
Jordan Clarkson also appeared to be wide open in the corner. Check it out:
Welp. The Cavs are on to Game 4.
Cleveland and Indiana are set to play a very big Game 4 on Sunday. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. E.T. on TNT.
