This Non-Lakers Team Could Be The Favorite To Sign Kawhi Leonard

Kawhi Leonard will be playing for the Toronto Raptors for the 2018-19 season (or, at least, part of the season). The question everyone wants to know the answer to, though, is where will Leonard be playing in 2019-20?

Leonard, according to reports, was not very interested in playing for Toronto, who could a major risk by trading All-Star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan for him when he's only under contract for one more season.

The California native is reportedly highly interested in returning to Southern California. The Lakers, of course, are considered by some to be the favorite to sign him.

The Lakers will have cap space in 2019 and will be doing everything they can to add another legitimate star next to LeBron James. Kawhi could fit into that role extremely well.

However, it's unclear if Kawhi is actually interested in playing for the LeBron James-led Lakers, who are going to be the most-followed team in the NBA moving forward.

The Clippers, according to some league insiders, could actually be the favorite to sign Kawhi.

Kawhi and the Clippers seem like a great fit. Leonard might not be interested in being covered at an extreme level and he wouldn't have that with Los Angeles' second team. He would undoubtedly be the Clippers' best player, too, and that wouldn't be the case on the Lakers.

The Clippers, like the Lakers, will have a lot of cap space, and Jerry West seems primed to make some big moves.

There are few better options than Kawhi Leonard. We could be seeing Kawhi in a Clippers jersey next season.
