Kawhi Leonard remains a member of the San Antonio Spurs organization, but it doesn't look like that's going to be the case for much longer. The All-Star forward has reportedly asked to be traded out of the franchise. He prefers to end up in Los Angeles.

The 2017-18 season was a weird one for Leonard, who spent most of the season injured, away from the team.

Spurs veteran big man Pau Gasol has commented on the status of his All-Star teammate. He doesn't appear to be too optimistic.

"I do not know if the situation can be rectified after Kawhi's request to leave, I do not know if a multi-million dollar offer would fix it, he has not talked to him for a long time, he's a very reserved player," Gasol told EpDeportes.

The Spurs are still reportedly attempting to rectify the situation, as they'd much rather prefer to keep Leonard than trade him.

A move could be coming, though.

San Antonio is reportedly telling Western Conference teams that they prefer to ship him to the Eastern Conference.

This could make teams like the Celtics and the Sixers, among others, prime trading candidates. Both Boston and San Antonio have enough assets to make a move.

Stay tuned.
