These 5 Teams Have Inquired About A Kawhi Leonard Trade

Kawhi Leonard runs up the court during a game for the Spurs.

Earlier this week it was reported that the San Antonio Spurs were not willing to trade Kawhi Leonard to a Western Conference opponent. However, a new report from Adrian Wojnarowski, Ramona Shelburne, and Brian Windhorst, suggests that the Lakers are still in on a Kawhi Leonard trade.

In the new report, Woj details that Leonard doesn't want to step foot in the Spurs locker room during the 2018 season. Also in the report, Woj and company detailed the four other teams that are in the Kawhi Leonard sweepstakes.

Five teams in total have reach out to the Spurs, though none of the conversations went very far, according to the report.

Here are the five teams:

The Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers and LA Clippers are among teams who've made offers to the Spurs for Leonard, league sources said. The Lakers, the franchise that Leonard wants to be traded to, did not have a good initial conversation with the Spurs, ESPN reported recently.

Woj, Shelburne, and Windhorst are reporting that there is "mounting pressure" for the Lakers to trade for Kawhi Leonard in the hopes of landing LeBron James as well.

If Leonard is traded to a different team, LeBron could stand pat with the Cavs for the 2018-19 season.

San Antonio reportedly hasn't been willing to engage in trade talks - at least not yet. If Kawhi has made it clear the two sides can't rekindle their strained relationship, it would make sense for the Spurs to trade Leonard before the February deadline rather than lose him in free agency the following year.
