The country’s No. 2 recruit is expected to announce his college decision today. Five-star defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux is expected to announce his college decision during the early signing period which begins Saturday, December 15.
The five-star recruit held down the No. 1 spot for the majority of the year before fellow five-star defensive end Nolan Smith took over later. Florida State was the early leader in the clubhouse to land Thibodeaux, though his recruitment has shifted a few different times.
Earlier this week, 247Sports compiled three recruiting experts to give their predictions on where the top recruit will commit. It’s between Oregon and Alabama.
“I do think it’s (between) those two schools,” said 247Sports recruiting analyst Greg Biggins. “I don’t think Florida State is out. I don’t think Florida is necessarily out, but I do think it’s Alabama making that late run. We’ve talked about how Bama is so good at closing. Nick Saban was in the house last week. They do such a great job at this point in time. It used to be January, but now it’s December with the early signing period making those home visits.”
Stay tuned for his decision.
