ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit has taken to Twitter to apologize for what he said during Saturday night's Texas-Oklahoma State game.

A comment from the ESPN college football analyst was not sitting well with one of Texas' former star players, who called out Herbstreit on social media.

Herbstreit was speaking really highly of Keaontay Ingram, Texas' star freshman running back, and talking about how he was showing flashes of elite play that we hadn't seen from the position with the Longhorns in recent season.

The ESPN analyst was forgetting about D'Onta Foreman, an All-American running back at Texas in 2016.

Foreman called out Herbie on Twitter.

"Ingram showing more elite flashes then than any running back from Texas in the last 5-6 years how fast do they forget ???" he tweeted.

Herbstreit responded with an apology:

"My sincere apologies. Obviously you had a brilliant career in Austin. That’s 1000% on me. My bad."

That's a fair response.

Texas had a tougher night, dropping to 6-2 on the season with the loss to Oklahoma State.
