Kirk Herbstreit Has A Message For Those Hating On Maurice Clarett

Few former star Ohio State football players are more polarizing than Maurice Clarett, the former star running back who had a major falling out both on and off the field. He's since rehabilitated his life and has become a mentor of sorts to young prospects across the country.

Clarett took to Twitter this morning to talk about his workout.

"4 Miles, 15 sprints up the stadium, 15 40yrd sprints. I’m Smiling because I have a lot to grateful for," he tweeted.

ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit, a former Buckeye himself, congratulated Clarett on what he's been doing. "Relentless. Every DAY!!! Maurice you’re a blessing to so many. Thank you for your daily drive. You’re a true inspiration my man. Keep climbing brother," he wrote.

Herbstreit then responded to someone saying Clarett was a waste of talent.

"This kid turned his life around! He is winning in life EVERY DAY. So proud of him. He’s reaching so many kids-This era of athletes needs to hear his story. God bless him for sharing his challenging story-Not always about results on the field," he wrote.

Well said.
