Kobe Bryant is beloved by Laker fans. He won five titles and played his entire career in purple and gold.
So how does the uber-competitive Bryant feel about a legend like LeBron James joining his franchise? He seems pretty happy about it.
Appearing on ESPN's The Jump with Rachel Nichols on Monday, Bryant talked about how he welcomed James into the fold when news broke of his decision on Sunday.
"Now, he's part of the [Laker] family," Bryant said. "Whatever he needs, I got him. When I got here, Magic did the same thing for me. Kareem did the same thing for me. He's part of the community.
"To see this franchise continue to progress and do well, that is the most important thing."
Bryant also said he doesn't think the pressure of playing for the Lakers will have any effect on James.
"it's nothing that he hasn't dealt with since high school," Bryant said. "He's had expectations on him since he was a teenager. For him, this is business as usual."

Laker games are certainly going to be a whole lot more interesting next season.
