Not only did the San Francisco 49ers lose their first game of the year on Monday night, the offense lost star wideout Emmanuel Sanders to a chest injury.
San Francisco sent multiple draft picks to the Denver Broncos to acquire Sanders before the trade deadline. He’s already shown that he can be a vital piece to the offense.
In Week 9, Sanders had seven receptions for 112 yards and a touchdown. It hasn’t taken him very long to get a grasp of Kyle Shanahan’s playbook.
Unfortunately for Sanders, he went down with an injury on Monday Night Football. The veteran wide receiver missed all of the second half due to chest pain.
With an upcoming game on the schedule against the Arizona Cardinals, the 49ers have to make a decision on whether or not Sanders will play.
Shanahan told reporters that Sanders will be a game-time decision for the 49ers.
He’s officially listed as day-to-day.

The timing of Sanders’ injury for San Francisco is brutal.
In addition to being without Sanders, the offense is currently operating without All-Pro tight end George Kittle.
We’ll know more about Sanders in the coming days as the team’s first practice of the week is on Wednesday.
