Oklahoma star quarterback Kyler Murray was dealing with an illness earlier in the week at the Orange Bowl. Here's the latest on the status of the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback.

Murray, the best player in college football this season, was dealing with an illness at the start of the week. He wasn't able to attend a College Football Playoff media day session.

The Sooners' star quarterback appears to be just fine for today's College Football Playoff game, though.

Murray has been at practice all week and ESPN's Laura Rutledge gave a promising update on his status this morning.

"He's good to go," Rutledge said.

Oklahoma will have to have Murray at 100 percent against Alabama this afternoon. The Sooners are already a sizable underdog and will need an epic performance from their quarterback in order to pull off the upset.

Alabama's defense appears to be excited about the challenge of facing Murray, too.

Alabama and Oklahoma are set to kick off at 8 p.m. E.T.

The game will be on ESPN.
