The patriarch of the Big Baller Brand has gotten a promotion.

LaVar Ball has gotten a promotion. It didn't take him very long.

The patriarch of the Big Baller Brand will serve as the head coach of Lithuania's Prienai - Birstonas "Vytautas" today. He had previously served as an assistant coach.

Ball, whose sons, LiAngelo and LaMelo, play on the team, had served as an assistant coach for a game last week. That game came against BC Dzukija Alytus. The contest was part of the Big Baller Brand Challenge Games.

At the time, it seemed like Ball being on the bench would be a one-time thing. That's clearly not the case, though.

Ball will serve as the team's head coach today. They're set to play BC Jonava in the Big Baller Challenge Games.

These games feature teams featuring players that are mostly 17 and younger. Ball had served for his kids' AAU team coach.

The team made the official announcement on Twitter. Check it out:

Not being the head coach hasn't stopped Ball from letting his opinions be heard before. He reportedly had been telling the team how they should be playing:

According to Lithuanian basketball reporter Donatas Urbonas, the Father of Balls “showed up” to BC Vytautas’ practice after the team’s 95-86 loss to Lietkabelis. Gelo and Melo both went scoreless in fewer than 15 combined minutes during their Lithuanian (LKL) League debut.

And what, pray tell, did LaVar do at this practice? Per Urbonas, he “told the players how they should play: more threes and faster game.”

Today's game will be streamed online. You can watch it here.
