LeBron James has reportedly not told the Cleveland Cavaliers what he'll be doing when it comes to his free agency decision. The Cavs will be making their NBA Draft decision tonight not knowing what the best player in the league will be doing next year.
According to reports, James will not be heavily involved in the Cavs' decision tonight. Unlike the Miami Heat (who took a pick James loved back in 2014), Cleveland's front office will be making its own decision.
That's a good strategy, to be honest. Cleveland might lose James in free agency and the Cavs shouldn't cater to his wishes when it comes to the NBA Draft.
James will not be heavily involved in the Cavs' decision either way. He reportedly won't even be in the area.
What will James be doing during the NBA Draft? He's on vacation.
Cleveland, owner of the No. 8 pick in the draft, will make the selection without knowing James' intention for next season, multiple sources told ESPN. James is currently on vacation with his family, sources said. He has to inform the Cavs whether he intends to opt out of the final year of his contract by June 29.
Good for LeBron. He definitely deserves some rest and relaxation.
Will he be watching the draft, though?
It's set to begin at 7 p.m. E.T. It'll be televised on ESPN.
