LeBron James is going to be a popular man this summer. One team’s star player is ramping up efforts to try to get him to join him.
The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night, and at this point, it looks like they might be a formidable squad in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Obviously, they’d be even more formidable with the best player in the world on their team.
After the victory, 76ers star Joel Embiid took to Instagram to do a little open recruiting of LeBron James. Embiid joked that LeBron should “Trust the Process” – adding a hashtag at the end that makes it clear he wants James to sign with Philadelphia this summer.
The 76ers, an Eastern Conference cellar dweller the past few years, now boast a 33-27 record and look to be one of the more promising franchises in the league. Adding James would likely put them over the top and allow them to challenge for supremacy – at least in their half of the league.
James, during last night’s contest, nearly put up a triple-double, finishing with 30 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Embiid, meanwhile, finished with 17 points, 14 rebounds and six assists.
Earlier this week, three billboards – meant to recruit LeBron – were spotted in Philadelphia.

James had this to say about them:
“It is actually very flattering that I’m sitting here at 33 and in my 15th year and teams or guys — I don’t want to say teams because that becomes tampering — but people in their respective city want me to play for them,” he said. “That’s cool I think. That’s dope.”
James, despite turning 34 years old this coming December, will have plenty of options this summer. At this point, it’s unclear which teams he’ll even be considering.
