The Lakers have a lot of question marks moving forward now that they've signed LeBron James. None appear to be bigger than the future of Lonzo Ball. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft remains a part of the team, but for how much longer?
Ball, who played well as a rookie, has heard his name mentioned a lot in trade talks ever since LeBron announced his decision. There are some who question if he'll be able to play off of the ball with LeBron and more who doubt that James will want to put up with LaVar Ball's antics.
Still, it seems like - at least for now - Lonzo will remain a part of the franchise.
Lonzo, Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and JaVale McGee were sitting courtside for the Lakers' summer league game on Saturday night. They were joined by their head coach and general manager.
LeBron was nowhere to be seen (he's still overseas on vacation with his wife) but he'll be joining them soon.
The NBA's best player appears to be a fan of Lonzo, too. ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst shared some information regarding the potential LeBron-Lonzo pairing. It's one James is reportedly looking forward to being a part of.
"I have been assured LeBron is high on Lonzo," Windhorst reported. "Likes him."
We'll see if LeBron likes him enough for Lonzo to be on the Lakers long-term.
