We've entered the week before NBA free agency begins. Free agency is officially set to get underway at midnight on Sunday. July, as it always is in the NBA, is going to be crazy.

LeBron James is, of course, the reason for this. The league's best player is expected to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers and become a free agent.

New LeBron James free agency odds have been released by 5Dimes.

The Los Angeles Lakers remain the betting favorite to sign James this summer. Los Angeles is currently listed as a -140 favorite.

The Philadelphia 76ers' odds are rising, though. Philadelphia is currently the No. 2 favorite.

5Dimes has listed Philadelphia's odds of getting LeBron at +280.

The full odds:

  • Lakers -140
  • Sixers +280
  • Cavs +300
  • Houston +550

James is one of two superstars being linked to Philadelphia this summer. The Sixers are also believed to be a contender for Kawhi Leonard.

The Ringer's Bill Simmons believes Philly is the clear favorite to trade for Leonard. The Spurs are reportedly unwilling to move him to a Western Conference team.

"Philly has to be heavy favs - cap space to absorb Kawhi/Patty Mills plus 3 of Fultz/Saric/Covington/ZSmith plus that killer 2021 Miami pick plus Bayless expiring," Simmons tweeted.

Do not count out the Cavs when it comes to signing LeBron, though. It's still possible he decides to opt into the final year of his contract. Cleveland is reportedly continuing to attempt to trade for All-Star point guard Kemba Walker. LeBron is also believed to be scanning the league to see if any other stars are willing to come to Cleveland.
