Les Miles is probably the name getting the most hype for the Kansas’ head coaching job, which opened up last weekend with David Beaty’s firing. Here’s the latest on Miles and the Jayhawks.
A college football insider is reporting that Kansas and Miles have spoken to each other about the opening.
“The Les Miles and Kansas camps have spoken,” CBS Sports insider Dennis Dodd tweeted.

Multiple outlets have suggested that Miles would be a good fit for Kansas, which is looking for a proven head coach capable of building some respect within the program.
Some, though, think Kansas would be better off finding someone young, like Iowa State did with Matt Campbell.

Miles has been out of coaching since getting fired by LSU in 2016. He’s reportedly been significantly interested in returning to the sideline, showing interest in several openings since then.
The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman reported earlier in the week that there was “a lot of momentum for Les Miles at (Kansas) as the new head coach, and that he’s emerged as a frontrunner.”
