Le'Veon Bell Watch has gone to another level, with the Pittsburgh Steelers' bye week coming to an end and players showing up at the facility this morning. Here is the latest on the status of the Steelers' star running back.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reports that Bell is not among the players who have shown up at the facility.
"Steelers players are in the building in Pittsburgh, back from their bye week, but I’m told RB Le’Veon Bell is not among them," he reports.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on Sunday that the Steelers still didn't know when Bell would be showing up.
Despite the expectation that Le'Veon Bell would report back to Pittsburgh this week, the Steelers have not heard anything from the running back and still don't know when he will return, sources tell ESPN.
There are some sources around the league who believe that because Bell does not want to be traded, he will wait until after the NFL's Oct. 30 trade deadline to return to work.
The Steelers could not trade Bell until he signs his franchise tender, and if he waits to sign the tender after the deadline, Pittsburgh could not deal him.
Trade talks surrounding Bell seem to have died down, though the Steelers have reportedly not completely eliminated the idea.
The Steelers are 3-2-1. Pittsburgh is set to host Cleveland on Sunday at 1 p.m. E.T.
