Lilly King, Simone Manuel Help U.S. Capture Gold In 4x100 Medley Relay

United State women's swim team lined up during the medal ceremony.

Lilly King, Simone Manuel and company brought home the gold tonight in the women's 4x100 medley relay. The win gave King and Manuel each their second gold medals of the Rio games.

King, Manuel, Kathleen Baker and Dana Vollmer brought home the gold with a 3:53.13 mark, ahead of Australia's second-place 3:55.00. King swam the second leg (breaststroke) and Manuel (freestyle) the anchor, but it was Vollmer, the Olympic vet, who gave the team a huge lead with a :56 third leg in the butterfly.

King and Manuel each won a pair of golds in Rio, with Manuel also grabbing two silvers during the week.

The win allowed the U.S. to reach an incredible milestone. The victory was the 1,000th gold medal won by U.S. in Summer Olympic competition.
