Listen: NJ Governor Chris Christie Got Into It With A Caller While Guest-Hosting Sports Radio Show

Chris Christie's Monday appearance on sports talk radio went about as you might expect.

The New Jersey governor, who has a 15 percent approval rating, is co-hosting with Evan Roberts this afternoon on WFAN, New York's premier sports radio station.

Well-known WFAN caller Mike in Montclair called in to blast Christie for his recent "Beachgate" scandal. For those unfamiliar, Christie and his family hit Island Beach State Park last week while the rest of the state was barred from going due to a budget shutdown.

Mike told Christie that the "next time you want to sit on a beach that is closed to the entire world except you, you put your fat ass in a car and go to one that’s open to all your constituents." He also referred to Christie as a bully, and the Governor in turn called Mike "a communist."

This riveting piece of sports radio can be heard in full below.

With longtime host Mike Francesa heading into retirement, there has been speculation that Christie could take over full time once his term in office is up. New Jersey is holding a new gubernatorial race later this year.

If Christie does earn a spot at WFAN, expect more exchanges like this.
