Carmelo Anthony remains sidelined this 2018-19 NBA season, as he's technically still a member of the Houston Rockets, though he's been off the team since early November.
The Los Angeles Lakers, among other teams, have been mentioned as a possible landing spot for Anthony.
Anthony, of course, is close friends with Lakers' star LeBron James.
Well, Monday night, LeBron and Carmelo were spotted at dinner together in New York on Monday night.
From TMZ Sports:
LeBron James and his wife had an interesting couples dinner date Monday -- hitting up an NYC steakhouse with Carmelo Anthony and La La ... and fueling rumors Melo's coming to the Lakers.
Remember, we spoke with John Salley a few days ago and he implied he had some inside information about Melo coming to the Lakers before the NBA All-Star break in February.
It's unclear if the Lakers would actually have interest in Carmelo, but Los Angeles did miss out on Trevor Ariza and could be searching for some veteran bench help.
