Loyola Chicago Knocks Off Kansas State, Punches Ticket To Final Four

Loyola Chicago's Sister Jean gets interviewed.

As we all correctly predicted before the NCAA Tournament tipped off, Loyola Chicago will head to the Final Four after winning the South Region.

The Loyola Chicago Ramblers are headed to the Final Four, which, more importantly, means we get another week with Sister Jean in the spotlight.

Loyola Chicago crushed Kansas State on Saturday night, 78-62, winning their fourth straight NCAA Tournament game. The Ramblers, who haven't lost since late January, did it with their most complete offensive performance to date. Loyola raced out to a 12-point lead at halftime and actually pushed it to a 23-point lead midway through the second half before holding off a late Kansas State push. Ben Richardson had an incredible game, scoring 23 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Marques Townes and Donte Ingram also finished in double figures for the Ramblers. Loyola shot over 57% from the field in the win. The Ramblers will next get the winner of Florida State vs. Michigan. Their Final Four game will come next Saturday night.

Loyola Chicago won its first three NCAA Tournament games by a total of four points. The Ramblers survived Miami, 64-62, Tennessee, 63-62, and Nevada, 69-68, before Saturday night's more-comfortable margin.

Sunday's Elite Eight contests will be Villanova vs. Texas Tech and Kansas vs. Duke. We'll have our Final Four by weekend's end.
