LSU will not be wearing its traditional white and gold uniform combo this Saturday against Southern Miss.
LSU will be ditching its traditional look of white jerseys and gold helmets as it welcomes Southern Miss to town. Instead, the Tigers will be rocking their alternate white helmets, white pants and not so often seen purple jerseys.
This is one of the cleanest looks in college football, and the white helmets may be some of the more underrated in the nation.
LSU is most commonly seen - both at home and on the road - in one of the more iconic uniform combos in the country with its gold pants, white jerseys and gold helmet.
There is an extremely long standing tradition for the Tigers' traditional gold and white look, but the purple jerseys are brought out when they take on non-conference opponents at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers also always wear the white jerseys for their home opener regardless of whether or not it is an SEC or non-conference foe.
So, in conclusion, the purple jerseys are not seen all that often.
LSU and Southern Miss will kick off from Death Valley at 7:30 p.m. E.T.
