Madden 19 Player Details Harrowing Experience At Tournament Shooting

A "mass shooting" has reportedly taken place at a Madden 19 tournament in Jacksonville, Fla. this afternoon. Unconfirmed reports have stated that multiple fatalities have taken place. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Department is working to confirm.

"Mass shooting at the Jacksonville Landing. Stay far away from the area. The area is not safe at this time. STAY AWAY," they tweeted.

"One suspect is dead at the scene, unknown at this time if we have a second suspect. Searches are being conducted."

One of the players at the tournament, Drini Gjoka, took to Twitter shortly after the shooting took place.

"The tourney just got shot up. Im leavinng and never coming back," he wrote.

"I am literally so lucky. The bullet hit my thumb."

The Jacksonville Landing, the event center where the GLHF Game Bar is located, is situated along the St. Johns River in downtown Jacksonville. The space is home to year-round entertainment, a wide variety of waterfront dining options and an inside shopping mall. It hosts more than 600 events a year, according to its website.

Today's event was the Southeastern Qualifier for the Madden NFL Championship Series for Madden NFL 18, according to the bar’s official Facebook page.

They just issued the following statement to everyone in the area:

"We are finding many people hiding in locked areas at The Landing. We ask you to stay calm, stay where you are hiding. SWAT is doing a methodical search inside The Landing. We will get to you. Please don’t come running out," they wrote.
