A major college football assistant coach has been arrested.
Missouri assistant defensive coach Vernon Hargreaves, whose son plays in the NFL, was arrested on Saturday night.
ABC 17 first reported the news.
The details surrounding the arrest are sparse at this point:
According to online records, MUPD arrested the 56-year-old, and he was released after posting $1,000 bond.
“We are aware of Vernon’s situation and are in the process of gathering additional information,” a Mizzou spokesman said. “Once we have completed that process, we will be able to offer additional comment.”
We have reached out to MUPD for more information on his arrest, but we have not heard back. We will continue to update this story as we get more information.
Missouri is set to play Oklahoma State in the Liberty Bowl on New Year’s Eve.
