One of the top conferences in college basketball could be expanding in the near future.

The Big East's commissioner, Val Ackerman, said this weekend that future expansion could be on the table for the 10-team conference.

The league announced some major news this weekend, revealing that its conference tournament would continue to be held at Madison Square Garden.

With the conference committing to several more years at MSG, perhaps it'll soon be time for another school or two to be added to the league.

The Big East plays just 18 conference games, while other major conferences have expanded to 20-game conference schedules.

Adding one or two more teams could allow the league to safely expand while increasing the league schedule. UConn, unsurprisingly, is the team getting mentioned the most for a possible addition.

Stay tuned.
