North Carolina announced this morning a decision on its head football coach, Larry Fedora.

He's been fired.

The Tar Heels lost to N.C. State on Saturday, falling to 2-9 on the season. Reports surfaced on Saturday night about Fedora being out as UNC's head coach.

The school confirmed the news today.

Fedora, 56, has been UNC's head coach since 2012. He's gone 45-43 as the Tar Heels' head coach.

North Carolina went 5-14 over the past two seasons following a 19-win span from 2015-16.

It's unclear at this point where UNC will look for a new head coach.
