Manny Machado has showed up at MLB All-Star Week in Washington, D.C. as a member of the Baltimore Orioles. He might not be leaving D.C. as an Oriole, though. Machado is very much on the trading block and a deal could be announced soon.
The Phillies are seen by many as the favorite to trade for Machado and according to some reports surfacing today, a trade is already in place.
Multiple reports suggest that a "handshake deal" between Baltimore and Philadelphia centered on Machado has been agreed upon.
NJ Advance Media's Joe Giglio tweeted today that he's heard a trade will be announced Wednesday morning.
Barstool Sports is also reporting that a "handshake deal" between the Orioles and the Phillies for Machado has been confirmed.
ESPN MLB insider Buster Olney has been reporting that the Phillies and the Brewers are the likely frontrunners to trade for Machado.
Machado was asked today about the possibility of being traded to the Phillies. He said the fans have given him a nice reception when he's played in Philadelphia and there are some familiar faces on the Phillies' roster.
An addition of Machado would surely be a big help toward the Phillies' push to win the NL East. Stay tuned for more updates.
