MLB Insider Has Major Update On Yankees-Manny Machado Trade
Manny Machado remains a member of the Baltimore Orioles, but the All-Star shortstop is widely expected to be traded before the MLB's trade deadline. The superstar infielder is set to be a free agent after the season and with Baltimore both struggling and likely unable to re-sign him, a trade for prospects makes a lot of sense.
Reports suggest that Machado could be dealt to another AL East Division team. The New York Yankees have reportedly emerged as one of the favorites.
The Yankees, a World Series frontrunner, have a host of talented young prospects that could entice the Orioles.
MLB insider Jon Heyman had a major update on a potential Machado-Yankees trade earlier today.
"Don't know yanks offer for machado. Do know it doesn't include Sheffield or Frazier. They have a long list of fine prospects, however. In any case, doesn't appear sides are close yet," he reports.
The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal has also reported that Machado to the Yankees is a strong possibility. New York's interest in the All-Star is believed to be "serious."
Orioles fans might wince at the idea of Machado wearing pinstripes, but the possibility of that becoming a reality seems to be strong. Stay tuned, the MLB's trade deadline is approaching quickly.
