Four-star athlete Mario Goodrich will officially be a Clemson Tiger.
Mario Goodrich is a native of Lee's Summit, Missouri. He is listed as a wide receiver, cornerback, and kick returner, and is ranked under the 'athlete' designation.
247Sports ranks him No. 114 overall. He's the fourth ranked athlete in the country.
247 also has him ranked fourth in the state of Missouri. He reportedly holds 19 different scholarship offers.
Goodrich's recruitment took a number of turns over the last few months. He originally committed to Nebraska in May.
In December, after Mike Riley was fired, he backed out of that verbal commitment. Just over a week later, he visited LSU and named the Tigers his leader.
However, he wound up going with a different group of Tigers. On January 19, Goodrich took an official visit to Georgia, and the following weekend, he made a trip to Clemson.
That last visit wound up being the one that stuck. Today, Goodrich committed to Clemson and signed to play for Dabo Swinney.
Goodrich and his mother spoke about the decision. From Tiger Illustrated:
"The coaching staff, I felt like I was right at home," Goodrich said. "The coaches, the players, they're always happy. I had that feeling in my chest."
"We knew it was the right choice literally when we got there (for the official visit," Goodrich's mother said. "Dabo is the man."
Goodrich is Clemson's 16th commitment. The class is now ranked seventh nationally, and second in the ACC.
