Mark Cuban Apparently Predicted The NFL Ratings Decline Over Two Years Ago

The NFL's TV ratings have dropped this year and Mark Cuban predicted this would happen over two years ago.

According to USA Today, NFL viewership through the first six weeks of this season dropped 11% compared to what it was a season ago. Some think it's due to the fact that this is an election year and people can't get enough of Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump, but Mark Cuban predicted this back in March of 2014.

The Dallas Mavericks' owner had this to say over two years ago about the NFL, via ESPN:

"I think the NFL is 10 years away from an implosion...I'm just telling you: Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered. And they're getting hoggy. Just watch. Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered. When you try to take it too far, people turn the other way. I'm just telling you, when you've got a good thing and you get greedy, it always, always, always, always, always turns on you. That's rule No. 1 of business."

Do people still watch the NFL? Absolutely. People still follow their favorite teams as they always have, but the NFL has primetime slots to fill and filling them with the Texans and Colts on Sunday night isn't going to help draw in a huge national crowd.

Take a look at this year's Thursday Night Football lineup and you laugh at some of the matchups. Next Thursday it gets even better as the Jaguars visit the Titans.

Mr. Cuban called his shot.
