Sacramento Kings rookie forward Marvin Bagley III has suffered his first NBA setback. He’s dealing with his first professional injury.
Bagley, the No. 2 pick in last month’s draft, tweaked his right groin/hip flexor area in last night’s summer league game. According to a release from the team, Bagley will undergo an MRI on Monday.
He’ll miss today’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers and is “doubtful” for Tuesday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Bagley scored 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting in Saturday’s 71-63 loss to the Phoenix Suns in Las Vegas.

It doesn’t sound like Bagley’s injury is too serious. The Kings will likely be cautious with him though.
No one wants to see their top draft pick battle any kind of ailment this soon, but it is better to have him tweak something in summer league than to be hurt during the season.
We’ll update you on Bagley’s condition after he has the MRI and the Kings reveal more on his status.
Hopefully he is back soon. This rookie class seems promising, based off summer league action, and Bagley is one of the most talented players in the group.
