Max Kellerman: Michigan State Should Get The Death Penalty

Max Kellerman on 'First Take.'

The ESPN First Take panel discussed Michigan State's shocking loss to Syracuse in the 2018 NCAA Tournament this morning.

During the discussion, co-host Max Kellerman called for the Spartans to get the "death penalty." He also said head coach Tom Izzo should leave the school.

Michigan State was the subject of an ESPN Outside The Lines investigation, alleging the school had serious problems in dealing with sexual assault allegations.

"Michigan State deserved and should presently have the death penalty. Obviously. Duh." Kellerman said.

"If Tom Izzo is not culpable for anything that went on there...he should not want to be associated with that institution right now. He's a great coach and if I were him I'd be looking for a landing place elsewhere."

Stephen A. Smith and Seth Greenberg both strongly disagreed with Kellerman's statement.

Izzo said after Sunday's loss to Syracuse that he's not going anywhere.

"I've got a job to do. I've never run from anything in my life. Nothing. I don't plan on starting now. So, I'll be here. I took too many bullets this year not to be here. So I'll be here, and we'll be back knocking on the door to win a championship. I'm going to make damn sure of that, and I'm going to get the help of my people, my team and my support. I hope I do a better job of handling all the other things," Izzo said.
