Meet the first athlete in this year's SI Swimsuit issue.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue will be on newsstands soon. The magazine will hit the stands in a couple of weeks.

There's going to be a surprise addition to this year's issue. A popular female golfer will be in the magazine.

Paige Spiranac, the golfer/model with more than 1 million followers on Instagram, will be in the magazine. She announced the news today.

The golfer took to Instagram to announce the big news:

"This was such a hard secret to keep! But I’m so honored and humbled to be included in #SISwim 2018! This issue is about self-love, empowering women, body positivity, and encouraging everyone to be kind. Women face so much pressure every. single. day. to look, act, and talk a certain way, and it is so difficult trying to figure out what you “can” and “should” be.

It’s taken a long time, but I’m proud of my body! I’m proud of who I am! I’m proud that I can be strong, smart, AND sexy! SI Swim embraces ALL women, no matter what, and just wants them to feel loved. You should feel loved and powerful and unapologetically YOU! And don’t let ANYONE tell you that you’re not perfect just the way you are. Thank you to @mj_day and the whole team for believing in me and letting me share my story. You’ve changed my outlook on life and let me know it’s okay to love my body #siswim" she wrote.

Spiranac included a photo from her shoot. Check it out:

Spiranac spoke to Golf.com about her decision to be in the issue.

So you’re in the 2018 issue of SI Swim. Why did you decide to participate? I think the question is more "Why not?" Sports Illustrated Swimsuit is iconic. I'm so honored and humbled to be included. I'm still shocked to be completely honest. But they stand for everything I believe in, which is empowerment of women, body positivity, being able to love yourself for who you are. They allow women to feel sexy if they want to feel sexy no matter what they look like or what size they are. I think that’s an attitude that everyone should have. Were you happy with how the photo shoot came out? What I saw so far has been awesome. I knew they were going to turn out great because they're so amazing and we had such an amazing time working together. I knew they were going to be amazing pictures. I was watching some of the interview I did with them and they let me speak out about everything. It was such a cool experience.
