Meet The Nashville Fan Who Threw A Catfish On The Ice

The Nashville fan has been identified.

Wednesday night the Pittsburgh Penguins and Nashville Predators opened the Stanley Cup Finals in Pittsburgh. The end result was a 5-3 win for the Penguins, but not before a little drama ensued.

Nashville opened the scoring with a shot from P.K. Subban that was later called back for offsides. The Penguins then went on a 3-0 run before a Nashville fan threw a dead catfish on the ice. After that incident, the fan was tossed out of the game, but the Predators fought all the way back to tie the game at three. Eventually, the game went to Pittsburgh after a high-rising wrist shot from Jake Guentzel.

Despite the win, all the attention today was placed on the Nashville fan who through the catfish. So, who is he?

He's been identified as Jake Waddell.

Waddell was thrown out of the game and is being charged as a result of the incident. The local Nashville radio show is making sure Waddell doesn't have to pay any legal fees.

The rivalry between Pittsburgh and Nashville may be fresh, but it's off to a terrific start.
