Report: Michelle Beadle Being Considered As Co-Host On Mike Greenberg's New Show
ESPN could be taking its search for the co-host of Mike Greenberg's new morning show internal.
The show, which is set to begin in January, will air on weekday mornings, possibly serving as a lead-in to First Take.
It will take Greenberg away from Mike & Mike, which he has co-hosted with Mike Golic since 2000. On that end, Trey Wingo will take over as Golic's co-host.
We still don't know who will be hosting alongside Greenberg, however. Names like Sage Steele and FOX Sports' Charissa Thompson have been floated, and now a big-name ESPN host is being tabbed to move to fill the role: SportsNation and NBA Countdown's Michelle Beadle. From Sporting News:
ESPN is considering a potentially powerhouse morning TV duo: Michelle Beadle and Mike Greenberg.
With the debut of Greenberg's solo morning show less than four months away, Beadle is emerging as a contender to join his show, sources tell Sporting News.
The move would unite two of ESPN's most talented on-air personalties at a new studio location in New York City. A final decision has not been made, as ESPN continues to look inside and outside for candidates.
Greenberg and whomever takes the role opposite him will be joined by a rotating set of analysts and celebrities, according to the report. With just a few months left until the show is set to premier, we should know more fairly soon.
