Michigan AD Releases Statement On John Beilein

Michigan's men's basketball program received some tremendous news today. The Wolverines are not losing their head coach.

John Beilein has decided to remain in Ann Arbor, Mich. after being pursued by the Detroit Pistons for their head coaching vacancy.

The Wolverines' head coach announced the news on Twitter.

"I love the University of Michigan and I am excited about coaching our Men’s Basketball Team next season and in the years to come ! Let’s go hang some more banners at “THE GREATEST UNIVERSITY IN THE WORLD," he tweeted.

Michigan has confirmed the news this evening. "We are thrilled." The Wolverines' athletic director released the following statement:

Michigan should be one of the best teams in the Big Ten next season.
