Michigan is currently waiting to hear word on the eligibility of their star quarterback transfer, Shea Patterson.

The former five-star recruit transferred into the Wolverines' program from Ole Miss. He's hoping to be eligible to play right away in 2018.

At this point, it's reportedly unlikely that Patterson will know if he's eligible or not by spring practice.

From the AP:

Michigan is unlikely to know whether Mississippi transfer Shea Patterson will be eligible to play next season by the time it begins spring practice March 23.

Attorney Tom Mars, who is advising Patterson, said an NCAA ruling cannot come until after Ole Miss has the opportunity to respond to Michigan's application for a waiver. Mississippi has 10 business days to submit a response, starting from when it receives the information from Michigan, and the clock on that was expected to start Wednesday.

Michigan fans can continue to freak out about Patterson and his eligibility, it appears.

They're also starting to freak out about who just followed Patterson on Twitter...

Does this mean anything? Of course not.

But, if you're a major college football program, you probably want your QB to stay away from Johnny Manziel. At least, keep a nice distance - for now, anyway.
