Mike Shanahan has been retired as a football coach for several years, but the iconic NFL coach has been linked to a new job.
The Green Bay Packers are searching for a new head coach and, surprisingly, Shanahan’s name has come up.
Shanahan’s son, Kyle, has commented on the speculation.
“I know he’s retired. So, they’d have to convince him very hard to come out of retirement,” the 49ers head coach said.

Mike Shanahan, 66, retired from the NFL in 2013. He led the Washington Redskins from 2010-13.
The legendary NFL head coach has won three Super Bowls and has 178 career wins.
The Packers have been pretty quiet when it comes to their head coaching search and it’s unclear who the franchise is actually interested in hiring. A Shanahan hire would be pretty surprising, though.
