Minor League Player Drags Garbage Can Behind Home Plate To Imply The Umpire Is Trash

A minor league player puts a trash can behind home plate to show up an umpire.

The Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks knocked off the Chicago Dogs 4-3 on Monday night, but it wasn't without incident. One of the team's players, after a third strike call, went absolutely crazy on the umpire behind home plate. Video of his actions is going viral - and for good reason.

Outfielder Brennan Metzger, who signed with the team in March, struck out looking while one of his teammates stole third base. Metzger disagreed with the call and let the umpire have it in the aftermath.

The team's manager got involved, attempting to hold Metzger back. Metzger, though, wasn't going to leave the field without giving the umpire a piece of his mind.

After getting tossed, Metzger retreated to the dugout and emerged with a large trash can. He placed it behind home plate, then screamed "that's what you are!" at the umpire as he walked back to the dugout.

Needless to say, he was implying that the umpire is trash - or garbage. It's about as disrespectful as it gets.

Oddly enough, the team's Twitter account posted it for all to see. It's a two-minute clip, but it's worth watching. Check it out:

Over the years, we've seen a number of incredible manager vs. umpire bouts in minor league baseball. This one involves a player instead - but it's up there.

There's no word on punishment for Metzger, but you have to assume that at a minimum, he'll be suspended.
